There has been no announcement, but Chicago Mustangs midfielder Luis “Pee Wee” Ortega Tweeted on Friday that he has signed with the San Diego Sockers.

Ortega was a key member of the Mustangs Newman Cup championship team in 2013/14 and has played most of his five-year indoor career with Chicago.

If the signing goes through, Ortega will be the first free agent to change teams since the “live period” began on May 1.  He would give the Sockers another offensive weapon and a player who can keep possession of the ball and control the tempo.
