Last year the Cedar Rapids Rampage raided the Milwaukee Wave cookie jar, signing former Wavemen Jonatan Santos (although he had already moved on to San Diego), Jonathan Greenfield, Pablo Da Silva and Tony Walls.   Today the Wave struck back signing Santos and Angel “Chino” Curiel away from the Rampage.

Santos and Curiel were signed to three-year deals, while the Wave also announced a two-year extension for Robert Renaud.

Santos, 32,  was ranked #14 on our T&B Ranks the Top 40 MASL Free Agents after a year in which he scored seven goals and 13 assists in 15 games.  He previously played for the Wave from 2007 to 2013, winning two championships in Milwaukee.

Curiel, 28, had seven goals in 15 games.  Santos and Curiel were each suspended five games by the MASL for a team violation of visa procedures.  Curiel starred for the Mexican National Futbol Rapido Team last weekend in California, leading Mexico to two wins in the three game series.

Renaud was already signed for the 2017/18 season but signed a new two-year deal that replaced the original deal for this season and locked him up through 2018/19. He burst onto the scene as a rookie last year with 17 goals and 11 assists in 20 games and landed on the MASL’s All-Rookie Team.
