Week 3 has come and gone with several changes to the Power Rankings, mostly taking place in the middle of the pack. So, without further adieu, here are my Week 3 Power Rankings!
- Milwaukee (LW: 1)
- Monterrey (LW: 2)
- San Diego (LW: 3)
- Baltimore (LW: 4)
- Sonora (LW: 5)
- Florida (LW: 8)
- Harrisburg (LW: 11)
- Tacoma (LW: 9)
- Kansas City (LW: 10)
- Ontario (LW: 12)
- Syracuse (LW: 6)
- Cedar Rapids (LW: 7)
- El Paso (LW: 13)
- Turlock (LW: 14)
- St. Louis (LW: 15)
- Rio Grande Valley (LW: 16)
Florida and Harrisburg posted key wins last weekend over Cedar Rapids and Ontario, respectively, moving them up in the rankings. Speaking of Cedar Rapids, they along with Syracuse, fell five spots this week due to disappointing losses in their matches. I have a feeling that this pattern will stay the same: The top five won’t change much, the bottom four won’t change much, and the middle will change every week. We shall see!
Now it is time to put on my Merlin hat for Week 4 predictions. Last week was OK, as I went 6-3. Here we go!
The big games of the week will take place south of the border as Sonora and Monterrey square off in a home-and-home series tonight and Sunday night. Who will win this clash of Southwest Division favorites? Each team will win on their home turf. I might have to focus Sunday night’s game; the game tonight isn’t until 11:35 EST, which is a strain on us Northeasterners. Here are the rest of my predictions:
Sigh. Baltimore over Syracuse – This will be closer than you think.
Tacoma defeats Turlock
If an upset were to take place this week, Florida beating Baltimore would be it. Baltimore plays Friday night against Syracuse, then has to fly to Lakeland to face the Tropics the next night. Give me Florida over Baltimore in this one.
Cedar Rapids gets their first win over Harrisburg at home. No one should sleep on the Rampage.
Harrisburg will beat St. Louis the next night in St. Louis.
El Paso takes down Rio Grande Valley in a close game.
San Diego takes down Ontario in the last game of the weekend.
So, there you have it MASL Nation. It should be a great Week 4! Best of luck to all of your teams!
LAST WEEK: 6-3
