Nineteen weeks and eight playoff berths later we have arrived at the final Power Rankings of the season. It is now up to the remaining teams to seek their fortunes in the Ron Newman Cup playoffs.

Five teams, the Monterrey Flash, Baltimore Blast, Cedar Rapids Rampage, Florida Tropics, and St. Louis Ambush, ended their season in the same position they started the season in the Week 1 Power Rankings. Every team was within three slots of where they started out except for the Syracuse Silver Knights and Harrisburg Heat who wildly over-performed and under-performed, respectively, this season.

In a bit of an upset, the Sonora Soles, bumped the Milwaukee Wave out of the top 4.  Sonora beat Monterrey for a second time, while the Wave’s injury woes continued to mount. The jump completed a long journey for Sonora, who started the year at #5, and dropped as low as #13, before making their steady ascent back up the charts.

Flash  desplaza The Flash just barely held on to the top spot due to their entire body of work (and finishing with the best record in the MASL doesn’t hurt). Though they lost to Sonora twice, they also beat Sonora twice this year.
2
19-3
LW: 2
Wk 1: 4
Sockers  desplaza The Sockers are picking up steam. With so many player options on their roster, their personnel selection for the playoffs will be critical to their success.

Wk 1: 3
download  desplaza The Blast are the MASL’s hardest team to kill, especially when their backs are against the wall. Will William Vanzela come to the rescue? Do they even need him to?

Soles  arrowupgreen (1) Sonora finished the season on a 13-1 run, including 4-1 against the division winners.

Silver Knights  desplaza Syracuse got an important win over the Blast to close out the season. It might not have meant much to the Blast, who sat four regulars, but Syracuse proved to themselves they could beat Baltimore, and they avoided ending the season on a three game losing streak.

Tropics  red-down-arrow-hi The Tropics lost 10 of their last 16 after a promising 4-2 start that included a win over Baltimore.

Coyotes  arrowupgreen (1) The Coyotes endured the loss of their starting goalkeeper and their Head Coach, but persevered to the end, finishing with an 11-win improvement over their first season.

Fury  red-down-arrow-hi Much like the Tropics, the Fury never got on a roll, and faded down the stretch.

Comets  desplaza The Comets finished nine standings games back of last year, but survived their transition year, and their fan base continued to support the team through the rebuilding process.
